I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs and attended Columbia College in Chicago where I received a BS in Theater Arts. When I was a freshman in College I was in The Lincoln Park Players an improv group of former Second City cast members as Betty Thomas and directed by Del Close. Later that year, I was cast as DANNY ZUKO in the original cast of GREASE.
At twenty I directed my first play and at twenty-three I wrote and directed ALL I WANT, which ran for over two years at the Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago and I won BEST PLAY and BEST DIRECTOR. ALL I WANT became the longest running original play in Chicago theater history and spawned a sequel, SOME KIND OF LIFE and then an hour TV special on ABC in Chicago where I won a local Emmy. I have directed plays in Chicago, Los Angeles and NYC.
In LA I’ve written and directed television, theater and films. I wrote and directed the feature film NECROPOLIS that is considered a horror film cult classic. I have written TV movies for ABC, CBS and Showtime including an adaptation of the classic play PICNIC for CBS.
